Bellows element should not be designed using the fluid temperature where it is high. Design standards allow design done using the actual metal temperature if it is known. Temperature measurements of an existing element cannot be taken often.

Metal temperature can be calculated using FEA or traditional heat transfer calculation. We have a better solution.

HeatTool is an optimized program to calculate bellows element's metal temperature in high temperature applications. Using HeatTool program the designer can use more realistic metal temperature and substantially improve the design. Program can be used also to check that the metal temperature is not below the sulphuric acid or other harmful chemical dew point.
